Hawaii under Tsunami Watch after 8.1 earthquake off Alaska



The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center (PTWC) announced the State of Hawaii is under a Tsunami Watch after an 8.1 magnitude earthquake struck off Alaska on Wednesday, July 28.

  22. Obviously the maps that we are shown aren't very accurate.. if you have an earthquake in alaska.. Hawaii is not the place you'd think it would affect… unless the maps they show us are very wrong

  29. Even here in New Zealand the government issued a statement that we didn't need to worry about a tsunami from this event but it was worth mentioning. Hawaii is one third of the way between Alaska and New Zealand.
